Great Blue Heron

Size: 42-52 inches
This long-legged bird can be found in wetlands and meadows and wading in both fresh and salt water. This bird eats fish, small crab, shrimp, small reptiles, mice, and occasionally even water birds.

Sounds: "graak"

Nest: Large platform of sticks, usually in tree, sometimes on cliff

In Marin: year round
