Marbled Godwit

Size: 16-20 inches

Look for this large sandpiper, with its long slightly turned up beak, in grasslands, coastal wetlands, marshes, mudflats, and beaches. It can been seen with its bill probing deep in the mud for small worms and other tiny creatures. Its long legs allow it to wade in the shallows.

Sound: "Gawada gawada"
