Ring-billed Gull

Size: 18-21 inches

The black ring around the yellow bill of adult birds makes its name easy to remember. This bird can be found all over the Bay Area in parks, shopping center parking lots, fast food restaurants, as well as along our coast and waterways.

Food: fish, insects, worms, rodents, eggs, reptiles, garbage

Nest: scrape on ground

In Marin: most leave in summer to breed

Young gulls do not have a ring on the bill.
